ORPHEUS — THE RETURN
A Space to Explore What Is Happening
Effective date: 31 August 2026
Please read this before your first paid session. It explains the nature and limits of the service, how we work together, and the practical conditions of an online session.
1. The work we are entering
A Space to Explore What Is Happening is a one-to-one facilitated personal inquiry. You do not need to arrive with a diagnosis, a fixed goal or a perfectly articulated problem. We can begin with what is happening for you and remain curious about the different dimensions of your experience.
My role is to bring attention, curiosity, experience and inquiry alongside yours. I may listen, ask questions, reflect, challenge, offer a perspective, allow silence, or invite you to notice or explore something differently.
2. Your authority and ongoing consent
I respect you as the authority on your own experience. I do not claim to possess the definitive interpretation of what your experience means.
Consent remains active throughout our work. You may question or decline an invitation, change direction, ask to slow down, pause, take space or stop. Saying no, not knowing, or recognising that you do not have capacity for something in the moment are legitimate forms of participation.
3. My role, standing and limits
I bring substantial lived and professional experience of working alongside people through complex parts of human experience. I work expansively and may consider psychological, emotional, relational, embodied, practical, cultural, existential, spiritual or symbolic dimensions when they are relevant.
Expansiveness does not mean unlimited expertise. I recognise the limits of my experience, perspective, training and competence. If something emerges that I believe requires support beyond what I can responsibly provide, I will say so and, where appropriate, encourage or assist you to seek another form of support.
4. What this service is not
This is a non-clinical personal inquiry service. It is not psychotherapy, psychological or psychiatric treatment, medical care, diagnosis, addiction treatment, psychedelic-assisted treatment, emergency support or a crisis service.
Psychological, emotional, trauma-related, substance-use, spiritual or other complex material may enter an inquiry without that automatically becoming a service I am qualified or contracted to treat. I will not discourage you from seeking or continuing appropriate medical, psychological, psychiatric or other professional care.
5. Outcomes and responsibility
No particular insight, breakthrough, healing, transformation or other outcome is guaranteed. I take responsibility for the quality, integrity and boundaries of what I bring to the work. You retain responsibility for your choices, interpretations, participation and what you ultimately choose to do with what emerges.
6. Session format, fee and continuation
Before paid work, we have a free 10–15 minute mutual-discernment conversation. If we both choose to proceed, you will be given access to this Client Agreement and the Privacy Policy before completing the paid booking/payment process. The current session is up to 90 minutes and the fee is $250 AUD.
Payment is due before the session. The paid engagement is confirmed when the required booking, payment and agreement/consent steps are complete. Electronic acceptance may be recorded through the payment or booking process.
The 90 minutes is a container, not a quota. If the inquiry reaches an appropriate natural completion earlier, we do not need to manufacture further material simply to fill the time.
There is no compulsory package or assumption of ongoing work. A further session is arranged only if it appears useful and we mutually agree to continue.
7. Online sessions
Sessions are currently provided by secure video call, ordinarily Google Meet. Please join from a place where you have reasonable privacy, can speak freely and are unlikely to be interrupted. A stable internet connection and headphones are recommended where practical.
Sessions are not recorded by me. No recording by either person will occur unless we have separately discussed it and both explicitly agreed in advance.
If the connection fails, we will first try to reconnect. If that is unsuccessful, I may contact you using the phone number you have provided so we can decide whether to continue another way or reschedule the remaining time.
For online safety, I may ask for a current phone number and, when reasonably necessary for safe practice, confirmation of your physical location at the time of the session. This information is not an emergency-monitoring service and does not mean I can provide crisis response.
8. Privacy, confidentiality and records
I will treat information you share with care and confidentiality, subject to lawful limits and circumstances where disclosure is permitted or required. I will collect and retain only information reasonably necessary to provide the service safely, ethically and with appropriate continuity.
I keep appropriate records of client consultations. Records are intended to be minimal, factual and secure rather than speculative interpretations of you. A separate Privacy Policy will explain collection, storage, use and disclosure of information, and how you may request access to or correction of information held about you.
Because online sessions and practical communications use third-party technology, absolute confidentiality of electronic transmission cannot be guaranteed. I will take reasonable steps to use services and settings appropriate to the sensitivity of the work.
9. Safety, scope and referral
If I believe continuing an inquiry is no longer useful or safe within the present container, I may slow, pause or stop the process and discuss what support is appropriate.
If your primary need is emergency or crisis support, diagnosis, clinical treatment, specialist therapeutic intervention, acute substance-related support or another service outside my competence, I may recommend or assist with referral rather than continue beyond my scope.
If an immediate and serious safety concern arises during an online session, I will respond according to the circumstances and applicable obligations. This may include encouraging you to contact emergency or specialist support and, where disclosure is lawfully permitted or required, contacting an appropriate service or person. The limits of confidentiality will be described more fully in the Privacy Policy and safety procedure.
10. Between-session communication
Unless we explicitly agree otherwise, between-session contact is for practical matters such as booking, rescheduling or brief clarification. The session fee does not include ongoing counselling, unlimited messaging, continuous availability or emergency/crisis support.
If you need urgent or emergency assistance, please use an appropriate emergency, crisis, medical or mental-health service rather than waiting for a response from me.
11. Cancellation and rescheduling
Please provide at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. With less than 48 hours’ notice, 50% of the session fee is payable. Same-day cancellation or non-attendance is charged at the full fee. Genuine exceptional circumstances can be considered individually.
If I need to cancel, there is no charge and I will offer priority rescheduling or refund any session fee already paid, as appropriate.
12. Concerns and complaints
If you have a concern about my service, I invite you to raise it with me directly where you feel able. I will take concerns seriously and aim to respond fairly and promptly.
Your right to make a complaint to an external body is not removed by this agreement. If the Victorian Health Complaints Commissioner has jurisdiction over the service, information about the General Code of Conduct for General Health Services and how to make a complaint will be made readily accessible to you.
13. Acknowledgement and consent
By signing or electronically acknowledging this agreement, you confirm that you have read and understood the nature and limits of the service, have had an opportunity to ask questions, understand that consent is ongoing, and choose voluntarily to participate.
You also understand that this agreement does not require you to consent to every question, invitation or direction that may arise during a session.
